I joined Steven and Nicola this afternoon for a photoshoot. We headed to Pitstone Windmill for the first part of the afternoon, it was a little chilly in the cool breeze (where did that summer go?) but we didn’t let that slow us down – this lovely couple were very natural infront of the camera trying lots of different poses and making use of the steps, doorways etc. For the second part of the shoot we went to the Grand Union canal and the reservoirs over at Marsworth for a few more pictures!

Tring family: Newborn portraits

July 23rd, 2009

It was a beautiful sunny morning when Steven and Nicola arrived  with their beautiful 3 week old baby boy, Ethan. This young family had travelled from Tring to my studio to have some family portraits. Ethan was very patient and didn’t seem at all phased in the studio environment. Here are a few photos ahead of the viewing:

Tring, Watford or Mead Open Farm? Impromptu children’s location portraits!

February 20th, 2009
Edlesbrough Church

Edlesbrough Church

Today is the last day of half term for our eldest son and I’m looking after him and his younger brother, so the question was should we:

  • go shopping in Watford
  • visit the natural history museum in Tring
  • or visit Mead Open Farm

As you might guess, Mead Open Farm was the winner. So off we went via Edlesbrough (stopping for a quick picture of the church) and on to the object of the children’s desire! I’m new to this 1/2 term thing, I should have expected it, yes, every other parent from miles around decided that’s the place to take the kids today. I’ve never seen it so busy, the car park was full, as was the overflow. I decided that we wouldn’t brave the crowds, we headed back towards Berkhamsted and stopped at the Common. Both the boys were wearing their wellies and so they went for a walk and I followed them armed with my Canon EOS 5D.  The youngest is still a toddler at 20 months old and isn’t too experienced at running through fields or the woods, he ended up on his bottom quite a lot but at least he was enjoying exploring all around him (even what was on the bottom of his boot!).

Now it’s time to go and feed the ducks down by the canal :-) and no doubt William will want to go for a Bambinocino at one of the coffee shops after.
