The Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead branch of the NCT are organising an Arts and Crafts Morning at the beginning of August. If you get the chance to take your children along, I’m sure that they will have a wonderful time and the Sacred Heart is a great place for children and toddlers with it’s hall and enclosed garden.
Here’s the flyer:

The Ashridge Estate, close to Berkhamsted, Tring and Dunstable, is a very attractive place to visit with your family. Walks in the woodland, picnics on the grass or a cup of tea in the cafe – there’s always something to do. Our children like to climb on the giant fallen tree trunks and then eat icecreams
.
This weekend I had the pleasure of meeting a beautiful young family at Ashridge – they wanted to get some family photos. At this time of the year, a location based shoot works really well. Children can run around with almost complete freedom and their parents can relax and enjoy the scenery. I worked from a distance, looking for natural, candid shots of the family – little Ethan and his cousin Harley were very cute and a joy to photograph!

Last night, a group of Berkhamsted mums met at the top of Pitstone Hill to wish Donna a fond farewell. Donna is moving a few thousand miles to sunny California for a few years – her friends organised a very fine, surprise, fish and chips at this very scenic location. I was there for an hour getting a few images to record the celebrations.

Poppy Alert!!!!
With the help of a couple of very kind people (you know who you are) – I’ve found a beautiful field full of poppies not too far from Berkhamsted/Tring/Dunstable.
If you would like to go for a shoot amongst the poppies, I’ve got a special offer for you:
Book your Poppy Shoot this week (before 10th July) and I’ll give you a complimentary shoot (which would usually cost £50). Don’t forget – the poppies will disappear soon and be gone for another year!
Please call/text/email me now – it will only take a second – 07879 827179.

What beautiful weather we are having at the moment! It is a great time to be outside with family and friends making the most of it; football parties, bbqs, picnics and photo shoots.
I had the pleasure of photographing a lovely young lady, Sarah, over in the Ashridge estate. It was a warm, sunny morning and being a weekday, it was very peaceful. Here are some images from the shoot.

You may have guessed, Sarah is a musician! (http://www.saxjames.com/)

This weekend, I joined young Oliver and his parents down by the canal (the Grand Union) for a location based shoot. This wasn’t the first time we had all met, Oliver has visited my studio a couple of times for baby pictures … but he’s definitely not a baby any more!
Oliver fed the ducks for a while, he showed no fear and allowed then to come right to his feet. Later, we all strolled down the path and stopped in suitable spots whilst I worked away.

I popped out to see the bluebells on Beacon Road today. They’re almost in full blume and already attracting lots of attention. If you’d like to take advantage of this beautiful backdrop for some family or children’s photographs, please give me a call 01442 870005.

I met with Jeanette and Mark in their home village – Wheathampstead (which is in the St Albans district) and they filled me in on their wedding plans – only a month to go! The weather today was changeable to say the least and after a heavy show had finished we headed to their local church and found a few locations for some pre-wedding shots.

After dodging a few showers we had a nice walk over to the river, here we worked through some of the poses we will be using on the Wedding day.

On Saturday, our eldest son’s school had a Christmas Fair. It was very well supported with hundreds of parents and children enjoying all that was on offer. You could buy everything from your Christmas tree and Christmas cakes through to a bacon sandwich
. I spent 4 hours in Santa’s grotto – each of Santa’s visitors received a photograph of themselves with Santa! It was a pleasure to be able to help the school in this way.
